Wilton residents to see water rate increase this month

Wilton residents using city water will see an increase in water rates starting with the February billing cycle.
During the city of Wilton bimonthly meeting Jan. 21 at city hall, the commission approved a $0.10 per 1,000 gallon rate increase for users.
According to meeting minutes published by the city in the Jan. 29 edition of the Leader-News, the increase is going into eff ect due to South Central Regional Water District increasing their rates.
In the commission packet for the Jan. 21 meeting, a letter dated Dec. 29, 2025 to the city from the water district explained it adjusted water rates to include a $0.05 per 1,000 gallon increase. This took the city’s cost from $4.28/1,000 gallons to $4.33/1,000 gallons eff ective this month.
