Wilton school board takes a look at the future

By Michael Johnson, Editor

The last regular Wilton school board meeting was a chance for Superintendent Craig Johnson to update members on construction projects around the school and other large items coming down the pipeline. Flooding issues in Minot had slowed the progress of some projects as contractors are difficult to find. The lot behind the school will be covered in asphalt by early August, Johnson said. Work on the gym roof needs to be completed. The job was supposed to be completed earlier in the summer but continues to be pushed back. There is cement work that needs to be completed around the playground. Holes are dug and have been barricaded from children. Johnson noted that some large items that may be purchased in the next school year include a new activity bus, fit with the Miner logo. He also mentioned new elementary science curriculum and possibly new social studies curriculum for next fall.
