Wilton School readies for students

"The football field, as of today, is seeded. It’s looking much, much better. Now, the trick is to keep it watered."

Superintendent Barb Kady told the Wilton School Board this information with a hint of relief in her voice, as this has been a work in progress for quite some time.

Because the contracted irrigation company backed out at the last minute, the district opted out on underground sprinklers for the time being.

Kady said a system can be installed in the future and she is working on receiving a refund for the incomplete irrigation work.

The newly seeded field won’t be ready by fall, as it will not be established and playing on it would only "tear it up."

With the first day of classes just around the corner, staff at the school have been busy preparing for the students’ arrival.
