The Wilton-Wing Lady Miners had a busy schedule this weekend. They hosted the Beulah Miners on Jan. 14, losing in what would come down to the final seconds of the game.
Beulah was able to set the pace of the game early leading the host team thanks to the help of Trinity Doe connecting on two three-pointers, ending the first quarter 12-16, Beulah.
The second quarter was up for grabs however as both teams began to pick up the pace. Wilton-Wing starting chipping away at Beulah’s lead. Tough defense shown by both teams caused turnovers on both sides of the court. The girls in purple would go into half trailing 24-28.
Coming out strong, Wilton-Wing scored 17 points in the third quarter, nine of which came from Kiara Johnson. Beulah would not go down without a fight though, as they seemed to answer right back with a score.
