Boys track on top

Southern McLean boys swept the Underwood meet on May 4, taking first as a team and racking up nine personal records throughout the day.
The Roughriders showed their speed in the relays last week, with teams taking first in three and second in another. A team of Matt Leidholm, Tate Bertolotto, Koby Hansen and Denny Neustel took in the 400 meter relay; with Koby Hansen, Dahme, Neustel and Coltan Hyttinen on top in the 1600 meter; Ben Frederick, Ezra Vogle, Tyler Dahme and Christian Gardner taking first in the 3200; and Leidholm, Bertolotto, Colton Eckel and Neustel placing second in the 800 meter.
Rounding out the track events was Hyttinen, with second-place scores in both the 1600 and 3200 meter. Cody Blazek took fourth in the 100-meter dash, and Neustel placed fifth. Dahme took fourth in the 800-meter run, Vogle placed fifth in the same race and Frederick placed sixth in the 400-meter dash. Tyler Barnhardt would take fifth in the 100-meter hurdles and sixth in the 300-meter hurdles.
