Cardinals collapse against Shiloh

It was almost over. The Washburn Cardinals were one point away from not only beating the Shiloh Christian Skyhawks, but sweeping them in straight sets. The Cardinals didn’t get the point they needed, and two games later, they didn’t even get the win. Shiloh Christian was able to come all the way back and take a key Region 5 match, 3-2. Washburn had not played better volleyball all year than what they showed in the opening stages of Tuesday night’s match against Shiloh. The teamwork, the energy and the excitement were all there, especially in game one. The six seniors, celebrated pregame during the senior night ceremony, were crucial to Washburn’s narrow 25-23 win.
