Cardinals fall twice, two games remain in regular season

By Danielle Abbott

The Washburn Cardinals volleyball team has been working hard through their season, and their strength and determination is beginning to show. Though they fell to Garrison-Max on Thursday, they played well and fought hard. Head coach Stephanie Williams said, "This was a great game. The girls came ready to defend their district record." Williams spent the week leading up to the big game focusing on hustle and serve receive. She said that those lessons paid off throughout the game. The team made great passes to their setters, but once the ball was set up, the team’s execution was about 50 percent. "We needed more execution with our hits," Williams said, "And that would have made the tempo of the game change dramatically."
