Cardinals sweep as season winds down
The Washburn Cardinals put together a successful week on the road, earning consecutive sweeps over Standing Rock Community and Garrison as the volleyball regular season heads into its final stretch.
Washburn defeated Standing Rock Community 3-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 6, before traveling to Garrison and recording another 3-0 victory Thursday, Oct. 8. The two wins gave the Cardinals six set victories without a loss across the week’s matches.
The Cardinals are listed at 9-9 overall and 2-3 in both District 8 and Region 4 in the latest standings.
With four regular-season contests remaining, Washburn has opportunities to move above the .500 mark before turning its attention to postseason play.
