Cards bring the thunder

Af ter a lackluster 0 -2 start to the new season, the Washburn boys entertained their supporters with a shot of offensive fireworks last Saturday in their 64-57 home win over Richardton-Taylor.
The Cardinals put their fortunes in the hands of low-post enforcer Karter Hansen (18 points) early on, as the senior manhandled the Raiders underneath with three buckets the first quarter.
Hunter Klindtworth also made his mark with a tonesetting 3-point play in the first quarter, along with a smooth jumper and cutting drive to the hoop in the second quarter, putting Washburn ahead 21-12.
