The Underwood Comettes captured the last ever District 10 volleyball championship Thursday night, topping top-seeded Wilton-Wing by the score of 3-0.

The Comets won the first set 25-19, and dominated in the second set, winning by a score of 25-13.

The Miners challenged to stay in the match during the third set, eventually falling by the score of 25-18.

Underwood coach Mary Hefta praised her team for the win, saying it was simple to sum up.

"We executed," she said simply. "We just executed so well."

Paige Hausauer and Tya Schiele paced the Miners at the net with six kills each, while Karlee led the way in both assists and digs with 14 and 18, respectively.
