Cowboys take out the Roughriders
The Southern McLean Roughriders welcomed the Killdeer Cowboys to Washburn for the first home game of the season. Both teams had a rocky start, with few defining plays. The Roughriders had a strong second possession however, with a 24 yard pass from senior Caden Germundson to fellow senior Karter Hansen. Germundson followed up with a 9 yard run, but a fumble on the next play put the ball in the hands of the Cowboys.
The Cowboys had a strong second possession of their own, with two passes totalling 30 yards leading to the first touchdown of the night. A complete point after kick brought the Cowboys’ score to 0-7.
