Roughrider girls made a comeback at a pair of recent track meets, finishing in first place twice in a row and qualifying for state in more events.

"Last week, we had a busy schedule with three meets," Coach Nathan Stamstad said. "This didn't stop the girls from having some really good performances."

Split into two teams for the Badlands Conference Invite in Hazen on May 3, Varsity took eighth while the JV team finished in first place. The team also qualified for state once again in the 800 meter run.

"We had a new state qualifying mark at that meet, with Kate Fox qualifying in the 800 for her 3rd different event she’s qualified in," Stamstad said.
