Hoops season is here

The Washburn High School boyʻs basketball team did not get off to the start they were wanting. The Cards dropped their seasonopening
contest in Parshall, 54-62. As for the girlʻs, they kept up their winning ways with another low-scoring win against Strasburg/Zeeland.
On Tuesday night, the Lady Cardinals traveled south to Strasburg coming off of a well-played game the previous Saturday against
Divide County. Washburn held the Clippers off the scoreboard the whole way and distributed the scoring between Dara Beck, Ashlyn
Schmitz, Kari Patterson and Monica Goven. Strasburg/Zeeland was unable to get back in the game after falling behind by 14 at the half.
