Little League ends on a win

Washburn Little League closed its season Friday with a pair of wins against Velva. The Cardinals took on the Aggies on Friday evening, taking a 12-run win in one game and a six-run victory in the other. In game one, Washburn would pull out five runs in the first inning, and another five in the second. Velva would fail to respond and lag behind into the third. The Cardinals would grab LittleLeagueendsonawin two more runs in the third and hold the Aggies from scoring, taking the game 12-0. Noah Jaeger and Parker Jacobson would each score three runs for the team. Ethan Retterath and Brady Kadrmas would each take two, and Josh Laning and Tanner Fiedler would score one each. In game two, Washburn and Velva would each score two runs in the first and head into the second with a tie. The Cardinals would keep the Aggies from scoring in the second, but take three runs of their own at the bottom, then another two in the third. Up 7-2, the Cardinals would head into the defensive position as Velva went up to bat in the fourth. The Aggies would manage another run to bring their final score to three. Washburn would answer with two more and take the game 9-3. Keaton Kadrmas, Josh Laning and Parker Jacobson would each score two runs, with Brady Kadrmas, Easton Kugler and Isaiah.
