The Miners headed to Mandan despite a city that has been blasted with a blizzard that shutdown the roads for two days.  The Miners came to town hungry after Garrison beat them in overtime.
They would open versus Shiloh Christian the opening round posing a big test in the first quarterfinal game.
The Miners would play well through the first quarter creating turnovers and playing solid defense.  The Skyhawks would send the Miners to the foul line many times also that would help keep the Miners in pace with the high-powered offense of the Skyhawks.  They trailed after one 11-12.
In the second the Miners had some trouble getting the ball to fall and the Skyhawks had a host of scorers come through for them and extended the lead to six at half.
The Skyhawks turned up the defense in the third quarter harassing the Miners all over the court making it difficult for them to get comfortable in the half court.
