Miners open season with strong statement at Jamestown Tournament

The Wilton-Wing Miners hit the diamond for the fi rst time this season with a doubleheader at the Jamestown Softball Tournament on April 5, coming away with a pair of wins and an early confidence boost for the 2025 campaign.
Taking on Enderlin and Harvey-Wells County at the University of Jamestown, the Miners powered through both games with timely hitting, dominant pitching, and sharp fielding, defeating Enderlin 9-6 in game one and downing Harvey-Wells County 6-4 in game two.
“For the fi rst two games I thought we looked good,” said Head Coach Trevor Yetterboe. “It was nice to see the girls make some plays in the fi eld. We limited our errors and didn’t throw the ball around.”
In their opening matchup against Enderlin, the Miners found themselves trailing 5-2 after three innings, but the bats came alive late.
A seven-run explosion in the bottom of the sixth inning turned the tide for Wilton-Wing, giving them a 9-5 lead they would not relinquish.
