Miners rock Standing Rock

By Don Winter, BHG News Service

On the night of Tuesday, January 18 the Miners hopped a bus for the long trip south to take on the Warriors of Standing Rock. Despite the long ride the Miners shook off the potential for bus lag, and managed to jump out to an early lead, ending the first quarter with a 16-12 advantage. Determined to hold serve on their home court the Warriors came stampeding back in the second, and at the half the Miners found themselves trailing by the score of 31-27. Wilton-Wing bore down on defense in the third, holding the fast-paced Warriors to 10 points in the quarter, while through blue collar work on the offensive end they managed to put up 15, giving the Miners a one-point lead heading into the final stanza.
