Post 12 baseball continues winning tradition

By Michael Johnson, Editor
The Post #12 Legion baseball team members have made a name for themselves for many years. Most of the boys on the team had play time at the high school state tournament this spring and know full well what it takes to play the top teams. The all-star team has been playing a steady schedule through June so far. They just finished a home tournament, the Steven Kenner Memorial Tournament, and came out on top. The team started their season June 8, with a win against Harwood. It took nine innings to secure the win with a 16-10 finish. The team added up 16 hits in the game and it took long enough that the teams decided one game was enough. In that game, Evan Eberle was 3-for-7 with a double and home run. Chance Kurle was 3-for-5 with a triple and two singles. Kirk Sailer went 3-for-5 with a home run. Danny Henke was 3-for-5, all of which were singles. Zach Hruby was 1-for-1 with a 3-run home run.
