Post 12 beats out Carrington

By Michael Johnson, Editor

A lack of numbers in other area teams has kept the Post 12 American Legion team from getting in as many innings of hard-hitting baseball as they would like this summer. The games they’ve been able to play have shown that the team still has the skills to take out some good teams. The team headed to Valley City in the last week of June and came out in seventh place. They moved on from that to play Carrington at Carrington last Saturday. It would be the only game they would get in as games against Hettinger and Hazen were postponed by the other teams. In that Carrington game, Post 12 came out on top in both games. The first was a close one, even though the boys far out-hit Carrington. Post 12 had nine hits and secured three runs while Carrington got their two hits and drove in two runs. Chance Kurle was the winning pitcher for that game. Danny Henke closed for him. Evan Eberle showed some great moves as he came out hitting two doubles to go 3-for-4. Zach Hruby was 2-for-3 and Connor Thompson came out 1-for-2.
