Post 12 looks to have another great season

By Michael Johnson, Editor

Much like the regular baseball season, the Post 12 baseball team of Washburn, Wilton, Center and Stanton is playing around another wet season. Also, like the regular season, the team packs a punch of great baseball players returning to the field this season. The team has already missed out on three games because of players out of town and saturated ball fields, one of those was a home game on June 14. They were able to travel to Grafton over the weekend for five games against some tough competition. The team came out swinging and went home with second place, only losing to Grafton, who took first. The first game of the Grafton Tournament was Friday and had Post 12 up against Devils Lake. Post 12 came out with a solid mix of hits and pitching. Eleven hits in all would be the slow yet effective start to the tournament that the team needed. Devils Lake answered with six hits. Post 12 won the game with a score of 7 to 2. The win could be credited to good pitching by Kirk Sailer as well as some good hits from Brett Schreiner, who hit three-for-four; Kirk Sailer went two-for-four; Evan Eberle went two-for-three; and Jared Hruby was two-for-four.
