Roll past Carrington
The Southern McLean Roughriders could hardly ave asked for a stronger beginning to their football season.
Southern McLean opened its campaign on the road with a commanding 32-0 victory over Carrington, combining a productive offensive performance with a shutout by the Roughriders’ defense.
Head coach Beau Eriksson said the team entered the matchup focused on two primary objectives: executing individual assignments and establishing a physical presence.
“Our keys to the game really focused on executing our job and being physical,” Eriksson said. “I think we did well in playing physical and with execution, knowing we have a few areas to get better at this week.”
The Roughriders accomplished both goals while taking control of the game and keeping Carrington off the scoreboard. Southern McLean’s offense generated 32 points, while its defense held firm throughout the contest to secure the shutout.
