Roughrider tracksters continue to place at the top

By Adam Thomas, BHG News Service

Hitting the road again for a pair of meets last week, the Southern McLean Roughrider track team attended the Badlands Conference meet on May 1 and then to Bismarck on May 5 for the New Salem Meet. There was a bit of uncertainty initially in Dickinson as rain delayed the start of the meet, but the sky let up with time for the action to get started. It shouldn’t come with any surprise that Abi Waloch took first place in the 800m dash. Even with getting tripped up with an opposing runner in the final stretch, she managed to recover in plenty of time to pull out the win. In addition to her win there, she also claimed a fourth place finish in the 400m dash as well. In the long distances, endurance runner Keisha Schock took first place in the 3200m and also eighth place in the 1600m. Andrew Kaiser put up another good time in the 800m with a second place finish on a 2:08.10 run.
