Roughriders place sixth at Stanley behind Neumiller's finish
Daniel Neumiller turned in an outstanding performance to lead the Southern McLean Roughriders at the Stanley Invitational cross country meet Aug. 28 at Prairie Rose Golf Course.
Neumiller placed second in the boys varsity 5,000-meter race, fi nishing in 17 minutes, 14.64 seconds. He trailed only New Town's Kade Lambert and was one of two runners to break the 17:15 mark.
Behind Neumiller, the Roughriders received additional scoring performances from Jace Dworshak, who placed eighth in 18:52.74, and Colt Biesterfeld, who crossed the fi nish line 28th in 20:28.55.
Southern McLean fi nished with 108 points in the boys team standings, tying Kenmare-Bowbells for fi fth. New Town won the team title with 60 points, followed by Beulah with 77 and Bottineau with 91.
