A proposed softball co-op between Wilton-Wing and Kidder County has been sent for approval from the State activities association.
After getting the nod from both participating schools and the co-op committee, the Wilton Public School board agreed to pursue a softball co-op with Kidder County. The board unanimously passed a motion to OK to the co-op during its Dec. 19 meeting.
Athletic Director Vicky Bender said that an application has now been sent to the North Dakota High School Activities Association. The association will need to approve the co-op for it to take effect in 2019.
The co-op was first proposed after two Kidder County girls showed interest in playing softball with the Wilton-Wing Miners. Bender said the girls understood that practices took place in Wilton and games would be in the area.
The co-op will not change the Miners’ classification, Bender said.
