Southern McLean battles hard in 55-34 loss to Killdeer
The Southern McLean Roughriders went toe-totoe with one of North Dakota’s top Class A football programs on Friday, October 10, putting together an inspired eff ort before ultimately falling 55-34 to the third-ranked Killdeer Cowboys on the road.
Despite the loss, Southern McLean showed resilience and off ensive fi repower against one of the toughest defensive units in Region 4, earning praise from Head Coach Beau Eriksson for their determination and team spirit.
“The team is in good spirits after competing very well with a good football team,” Eriksson said following
the game. “We are pretty bummed that we did not get the win, but I was proud of the eff ort our guys displayed against the #3 team in the state.”
The Roughriders came out aggressively from the opening kickoff , moving the ball eff ectively and fi nding success both through the air and on the ground.
