Southern McLean boys place third at Hazen Small Meet
Southern McLean’s boys track and field team posted a strong third-place finish, while the girls gained valuable experience with a sixth-place showing at the Hazen Small Meet on April 20.
The boys racked up 91 points to place behind host Hazen and Dickinson Trinity, highlighted by multiple event wins, podium finishes and personal bests across the sprints, hurdles, relays and field events. The girls totaled 55 points, earning several top finishes and strong relay performances in a competitive field.
Boys have big day on track and in field Daniel Neumiller led Southern McLean on the boys side with a victory in the 1,600 meters, clocking a personal-best 4:57.75.
Hayden Clausen was a double event standout in the hurdles, winning the 110-meter hurdles in 17.54 seconds and placing second in the 300 hurdles at 44.83.
Southern McLean’s sprinting depth was on display in the 100 and 200 meters. Beckett Kadrmas finished fourth in the 100 (11.36) and claimed a runner-up finish in the 200 with a personal-best time of 22.12. Keaton Kadrmas added a top-10 finish in the 200, while multiple Panthers recorded season or personal bests in both races.
