Southern McLean boys tie for third at Seifert Memorial Meet
The Southern McLean boys track and field team put together a balanced day of points and victories to finish tied for third at the Hunter Seifert Memorial Meet on May 2 at Shiloh Christian School.
Southern McLean totaled 67 points, matching Century for third in the 19-team field. Carrington won the boys title with 90 points, followed by Hettinger County with 80.5.
The Southern McLean girls added points across multiple events and tied for ninth with 25 points. Bowman County won the girls team race with 116 points, ahead of Hettinger County (85.5) and Carrington (75).
On the boys side, Beckett Kadrmas delivered one of the day’s top performances for Southern McLean, winning the 800 meters in 2:00.87. Southern McLean also captured the 4x100 relay title as Brady Vollmuth, Levi McGregor, Keaton Kadrmas and Beckett Kadrmas combined for a winning time of 44.50 seconds.
Southern McLean added another major win in the field events as William Bergquist cleared 6 feet, 2 inches to take first in the high jump. Vollmuth also won the pole vault, posting a personal-best 12-6, while Keaton Kadrmas placed fourth (10-0) and Porter Snyder took eighth (8-6) to give the Roughriders additional points.
In the 4x400 relay, Southern McLean finished second in 3:42.55 with Keaton Kadrmas, McGregor, Snyder and Beckett Kadrmas.
