Southern McLean boys win Central McLean County Meet

Southern McLean’s boys track and fi eld team turned in a strong all-around performance to win the Central McLean County Varsity Meet on April 30 in Underwood, while the girls added a solid fourth-place fi nish in a competitive fi eld.
Southern McLean collected 130 points to top the boys standings, fi nishing comfortably ahead of Linton/HMB, which placed second with 101.5 points. Standing Rock was third with 81 points, followed by Hettinger County with 80 and Central McLean with 78.
The Southern McLean girls scored 71 points to place fourth, trailing meet champion Hettinger County (126), Linton/HMB (86) and New Salem-Almont (77). Standing Rock followed Southern McLean in fi fth with 68 points.
On the track, Keaton Kadrmas led the Southern McLean boys with a standout day. The sophomore won the 400 meters in a personal best 53.97 seconds and was also a key contributor on the winning 4x400 relay that fi nished in 3:40.86. Kadrmas added a runner-up fi nish in the 100 meters, crossing the line in 12.10 seconds.
Daniel Neumiller earned another individual victory for Southern McLean, winning the 3,200 meters in a personal-best 10:21.28.
Hayden Clausen also picked up a fi rst-place fi nish by winning the 110-meter hurdles in 17.75 seconds, then added a third-place showing in the 300 hurdles.
Southern McLean found additional success in the middle distances, with Neumiller, Porter Snyder, Easton Kugler and Beckett Kadrmas combining to win the 4x800 relay in 8:55.64.
The quartet’s eff ort helped extend Southern McLean’s lead in the team standings.
In relay action, Southern McLean also captured fi rst place in the 4x400 and placed third in the 4x100, while the 4x200 team added key points with a fourth-place fi nish.
