Southern McLean opens football season with shutout win over Carrington
The Friday night lights were shining bright in Washburn on Aug. 22 as the Southern McLean Roughriders opened their 2025 football season in commanding fashion.
Facing Carrington in the season opener, the Roughriders leaned on physical play, stout defense and timely execution to secure a 14-0 shutout victory.
From the opening kickoff, Southern McLean established control at the line of scrimmage. Head Coach Beau Ericksson credited his players’ intensity in all phases of the game, noting the physical edge made the difference.
