Southern McLean places eighth at Region 5/6 Tournament
The Southern McLean boys golf team competed with a strong showing at the Region 5/6 Tournament on May 26, placing eighth in a highly competitive 24-team field at Bully Pulpit Golf Course in Medora.
Led by four golfers finishing among the top 70 individuals, Southern McLean posted a team score of 350, finishing just two strokes behind seventh-place Beulah and ahead of several established programs from across western North Dakota.
Bowman County captured the regional championship with a score of 324, while Shiloh Christian placed second at 329.
Heart River and Dickinson Trinity shared third place at 330, followed by Stanley in fifth at 343 and Powers Lake in sixth at 345.
Beulah finished seventh with a 348 before Southern McLean rounded out the top eight.
