Southern McLean turns in strong showing at home track invite

Southern McLean athletes turned in several top finishes and relay victories while competing at the Southern McLean Invitational on April 16 at Washburn High School.
In the team standings, the Southern McLean boys placed third overall with 68.5 points, finishing behind Linton/HMB and Beulah. The girls team took fourth in a competitive field, scoring 64 points.
Boys highlights
The Southern McLean boys were led by a mix of distance, hurdle and relay performances.
Daniel Neumiller earned a runnerup finish in the 1600 meters, setting a personal-best time of 5:01.04.
Neumiller also anchored the meet winning 4x800 relay, teaming with Easton Kugler, Theron Arbach and Porter Snyder for a first-place time of 9:35.47.
Hayden Clausen picked up podium finishes in both hurdle events, placing second in the 300 hurdles at 45.80 and helping score key team points. Clausen was also part of the second-place 4x400 relay, which finished in 3:57.40 alongside Levi Horne, William Krush and Snyder.
