The second game of the 2021 NDHSAA Class B Softball State Tournament was an instant classic that saw the Lady Miners lose a 3-2 thriller last Thursday to the eventual champs, Central Cass Squirrels.

With the score knotted up at 2 headed into the seventh inning, Peyton Nelson knocked in the winning run with a ground out following a triple and two intentional walks to load up the bases.

Ironically, Nelson was replaced by Victoria Richter earlier in the contest, as the former struggled locating the strike zone, surrendering five walks and both Miner runs in her four innings of play.
