After what seemed like an eternity for the Wilton-Wing boys basketball team, they took the court for the first time Dec. 20 to face the Garrison Troopers on their home court.
Snow and cold weather have created a late start for the Miners team who were anxious to get out on the court for the quest to win District 10.
Garrison had dispatched Hazen in their first game in a close one 65-62, to open their season the previous week.
The Miners would open going inside to their big men with Nick Backman and Tanner Miller, each contributing to a 15-15 tie heading into the second.
Sophomore sharpshooter Tate Dickson would explode in the second with 10 points and the Miners-D held the Troop to just seven points giving them a cushion heading into halftime, 34-22.
