There is officially a new varsity football co-op, which will be implemented in the fall of 2015.

The Washburn School Board accepted the Wilton School Board’s recent request to form a varsity co-op, with just the two schools, at their Monday night meeting.

Before their approval, the following discussion was held.

Board member and co-curricular committee chairperson Courtney Seiler said, "We need them (Wilton) for junior high and they obviously need us for varsity."

School Board President Rick Tweeten said, "When we started this co-op four years ago, we had a 50-50 split with Wilton. We need to get more kids pulled out from Wilton to continue this co-op."
