Washburn beats down Bulldogs
Washburn boys earned a win at home this week, besting the Flasher Bulldogs despite a slow start in the first quarter. The Cardinals hosted Region 5 opponent Flasher on Feb. 2, with Washburn coming out of the gate with a pair of threes that would set the tone for the home team. Junior Alex Rettarath and freshman Parker Jacobson would each tally a triple in the first quarter, two of over a dozen that the Cardinals would sink over the course of the game. Flasher responded in hand with a three from sophomores Trey Heid and Grant Hauge. The Bulldogs didn’t stop there, scoring another10 points on shots inside to take a 16-10 lead going into the second quarter.
