Washburn Little League Team A claims runner-up finish
A put together an impressive run at the area Little League Tournament held Friday, July 17, in Turtle Lake, advancing all the way to the championship game before earning a second-place finish.
Washburn opened tournament play with victories over New Salem and Wilton, with both wins securing a spot in the championship matchup against Underwood.
Although the team came up short in the title game, its strong performance throughout the tournament capped off an outstanding day of baseball and showcased the group’s determination and teamwork.
Members of the runner-up squad included coaches McKayde Baumann, Tim Frantz and Jeremy Wentz along with players Cooper Hoff, Corbin Marshall, Knox Wentz, Rylan Blackaby, Tanner Kraft, Jace Dworshak, Noah Henke, Ethan Moser, Matthew Laning, Ethan Hinson, Porter Kadrmas and Kipp Holznagel.
