Wilton-Wing boys were able to hold off the Washburn Cardinals after four quarters of basketball last week.
The opening quarter of the Jan. 3 game was off to a hot start with both teams exchanging scoring drives back to back. Cardinals were able to run up a slight lead at the end of the first with the help of Dylan Williams making two three pointers.
The Miners would not stay silent however. The second quarter was a game of catch up that eventually lead the Miners to take over. Tucker Schiele would make nine points helping push Miners ahead 24- 22 at half time.
The second half started off just as fast paced as the first with both teams scoring 14 points in the third quarter. In the end, Wilton was able to narrowly hold on to the lead, at the end winning 51-48.
