The Wilton-Wing Miners made their home debut last week with two matches that continued the positive pace of the Miners’ season thus far.
The rambunctious home crowd, especially the enthusiastic student section, cheered their team onward to a pair of victories with a 3-1 victory over Hebron-Glen Ullin and then a win against Garrison-Max 3-0.
The team’s first look at action on their home court was against the Hebron-Glen Ullin Bearcats on Tuesday night.
It took them four sets to finish off the Bearcats, only losing the second set in extended points 29-27. The one they lost was easily the closest of the night, but none of the sets were runaway wins for Wilton-Wing.
The difference was the amount of kills that the Miners laid down on the opposing side of the court. Heidi Clausen led the team with 20 while Jocelyn Bergquist put down 11 kills of her own for the Miners.
