WWCS split with Hettinger/ Scranton in home doubleheader
The Washburn Wilton Center Stanton (WWCS) Cardinals hosted Hettinger/Scranton for a home doubleheader this past week, playing one counter game and one scrimmage.
The opener saw Hettinger/Scranton’s offense surge in an 11-3 win, but the Cardinals responded with a strong defensive showing in the scrimmage to edge out a 3-2 victory.
The day started rough for WWCS as Hettinger/Scranton capitalized on several defensive miscues to build momentum early.
Starting pitcher Jonah Miller worked 3.1 innings, striking out seven while giving up seven earned runs and three walks.
