62 Years Later

62 Years Later
By Joyce Anderson Kahler
This is the story of two grade school girls, the best of friends. One is Joyce Heller Korwin, the other Joyce Anderson Kahler, who tells this story.
The two Joyces lived in Wil-liams County Round Prairie Township, 14-15 miles west of Williston. They went to school at the “Round Prairie School.”
We started the first grade in 1942, and finished the eighth grade in 1950. Joyce Heller was born in 1935 and Joyce Anderson in 1936.
After the 8th grade graduation, Joyce Heller attended Williston High School, and Joyce Anderson went to Sheyenne River Academy in Harvey, ND. Joyce said she really missed my not being with her in Williston High School.
We really didn’t keep in close touch after leaving grade eight at Round Prairie School. She married after she graduated from high school to Pater Korwin. She’s Norwegian and he’s Polish. They have seven children, one of them adopted. They are Justin Mark, Curt, Tamara (Tammy) Terrilynn, Kimberly (adopted), Helen and Kelly John. She has 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Peter’s father, Dr. J.J. Korwin was my eye doctor.
Joyce Anderson married Clif-ford Kahler of Goodrich, ND. They married March 6, 1955 in Williston. They have four children, Clifton, Geraldine, Gracie and Tammy Jo. They have seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Clifford passed away Jan. 9, 2010.
