August County Commission meeting fairly quiet

Not much new was discussed at the Sheridan County Commissioner’s meeting held Aug 8.
Steve Eisenbeisz, who is interested in a position as a Sheridan County Commissioner, sat in for the morning portion of the meeting.
Commissioner’s listened to a presentation from Carmen Tomen from Nationwide Retirement Sol-utions. She explained how deferred comp was a supplement to the employee’s retirement plan. After listening to her presentation, commissioners voted to approve Nationwide to be part of the county retirement plan. Tomen will be returning in mid-August to visit with the county employees.
Sarah Crimmins, county agent, stopped in to say hello, along with her baby girl, Sydney. Com-missioners coined the happy baby as the “newest taxpayer.”
The Park Board met with com-missioners, along with Jason Parsons.
According to last month’s minutes, Ecolab came out and installed mouse traps.
Parsons noted that bids for materials for the new park addition came out higher than was expected; one bid was said to be in the amount of $8,000 from Border States and the other was at $7,250 from Dakota Supply. The board wanted to keep the bid under $10,000 or they’d have to bid it out.
As of Aug 6, Verendrye had still not done the transformers and meter sockets.
