Awards night held for 4-H achievements
The Sheridan County 4-H awards Banquet was held on Sunday evening, Oct. 18, at the McClusky Elementary School.Crystal Schaunaman, Sheridan County Extension Agent, welcomed the guests. The group opened their event with the usual ceremony of saluting the American flag, the pledge of allegiance, and the recitation of the 4-H pledge. Schaunaman recognized community members and 4-H youth and leaders with various awards: Co-op Elevator of McClusky received the “Friend of 4-H” award; Sharon Haugen of Martin received the “Pioneer” award; Summer Dieterle and Kaitlyn Kline both received the “best Individual 4-H Record” awards; and Bev Faul, Jay Gahner, Vickie Lasher and Phyllis Dieterle each received an award for 1, 1, 10 and 15 years as 4-H leaders.
Key Club award winner was Jerica Jesz. Cory Peerboom won the 2009 Medal award. After the awards, the dinner was served by Shari Roth with chicken, strudels, potatoes, gravy, peas, brownie, ice cream, punch and coffee. The slide was shown during dinner. The officers for 2010 Sheridan County 4-H Council are Darci Gahner, president; Phyllis Dieterle, vice president; Bev Faul, secretary, and Teresa Naser, treasurer.
