Bringing joy in younger packages

By ALLAN TINKER
Joy in a younger version, was represented and performed by the kindergarten through sixth grade students on Thursday morning and afternoon, the day following the split performances of grades seven through twelve band and choir. The opening performance of an All American Christmas, by Teresa Jennings, again celebrated the unified
holiday observance of Christmas throughout the country. “Over the River,” brought many to recalling when it was by sleigh, not motor vehicle that such songs recalled. “We
Three Kings,” “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear,” and “We Gather Together,” featuring the second grade girls, kept Christ in the center of the season. The elementary band, fifth
and sixth grades, performed “Sousa Spectacular,” by Sousa, arranged by O’Reilly Williams; “A Festive Fanfare,” Brian Balmages; “Chanson de Noel,” by Larry Neck; and
“Stille Nacht,” with the history of the music presented by Director Vernel Schneider, by Mohr/Gruber.
