CANDISC ready to roll

CANDISC ready to roll

By ALLAN TINKER
With thirsty and hungry CANDISC riders pedaling in from the west a week from Sunday, the rest stop in Mercer greeting them will be handled by the Lakeside 4-H Club with Megan Sparrow as leader. It is the last rest stop before the riders enter McClusky on August 7.
The Union Cafe will host the evening meal and will have their chuckwagon in the park for snacks before the meal.
The next morning, Monday, St. John’s LWML will host breakfast.
CANDISC Committee chair Laurie Brackett states the rest stop on Highway 14 on August 8, Monday, will be staffed by the Kathy Davis Memorial Pool lifeguards, with Shari Roth as leader.  This will be the first stop after the CANDISC riders leave on the ride to Tuttle, the second day of their ride.
Entertainment on Sunday in the park will be local musicians and singers, starting at 5 and going until 9 p.m.  Lion Dave Martwick and Lion Jeff Martwick will be giving Lion-sized pontoon rides at Hoffer Lake in the evening, with transportation to the lake furnished.
McClusky Merchants have swim-ming passes for all CANDISC riders.
