Cardinals take two over Cougars
The Cardinals’ boys junior high athletes from Washburn played against the Central Mclean Cougars on February 14, taking home two wins.
In the seventh-grade division, quarter scores were 5-3, 14-5, 20-9, and 28-11. Eighth grade players kept the pressure up with quarter scores 14-4, 24-11, 34-26, and 46-32.
The Cougars powered up in the third quarter to reduce the Cardinals’ lead to 28-19, but then held at 26 points into the fourth quarter as the Cardinals moved up steadily to the winning score of 46-32.
