Commander arrives
A long, red, firetruck, with “Commander” on the front, was unloaded along the north side of City Hall on Monday. Driver and local trucker Steve Wolt brought the truck in from near the heart of New York City. A crowd gathered of mostly fi refi ghters, but a few sidewalk superintendents showed up, as well. With information of the used, but not by much, 33-foot fi re truck, Wolt revealed that when he started his truck’s engine and logged in trip information, the mileage on the truck was 9111. He left it as an omen of good luck and friendship between the fi re department in New York and the one back home in McClusky. Story next week!
