Cowboy wins over judges at kiddie parade

By GABLE RHOADS

The children came on foot, by two wheels and four, and even one by horse drawn carts. The participants in the annual kiddie parade put on a grand show for this year’s midsummer fest.

The colorfully decorated kiddie train, driven by conductor Andrew Werth led the parade of queens, princesses, racing fans, patriots, a birthday boy and a boy with "awesome hair."

The contestants were Wyatt and Josie McLeod - Happy Birthday America; Brooklyn Lauer as Doc McStuffins; Daphne Lauer as Queen Elisa; Nora and Nathan Kurle in a patriotic wagon; Brayden Lauer as the birthday boy; Eli Halstad with awesome hair; Lindsay Abrahamson as a princess; Cole Abrahamson the number one Ford racing fan; Tell Tedford, McClusky’s youngest bronc rider; Landon and Ethan Saueressig on their John Deere Gator; Taegan and Kolby Fox driving a Razor; Maggie Riley and Ethan Mosser in a red, white and blue wagon; and Aubrey Majors and Kimberly Riley on a horse-drawn cart.

Although all the kids were worthy of winning, only three could be awarded a prize.

Tell Tedford won first place with his bronc riding outfit and "bronco" bike.

Aubrey Majors and Kimberly Riley trotted in second with their horse drawn cart with the sign proclaiming that "McClusky is more than a one- horse town."

Third place went to Daphne Lauer dressed as Queen Elsa from the movie "Frozen."
