Graduations held on sunny weekend

Both Goodrich and McClusky School Districts held their commencement exercises the weekend of May 16 and 17. Goodrich graduated six: Carter Gahner, Timothy Grupp, Devin Hartman, Alanna Reiswig, Dorian Rohweller, Caitlin Threadgold, and Drew Way.
Following the baccalaureate services led by Pastor George Schuessler, featured speaker Bishop Mark Narum spoke on “You Raise Me Up” theme reflected in the song sung by those attending the service in the school’s gynasium. The school band and chorus accompanied the ritual celebration, with Mrs. Ladonna Erdmann accompanist for the baccalaureate.
The brightly colored gold and blue gowns stood out in the full gymnasium, where relatives, friends and school staff gathered to mark the occasion of a landmark moment in each of the graduates’ lives. Dorian Rohweller presented the salutatorian’s address, recognizing his classmates and how they joined the final class number and the people who were gathered. He also introduced the class video, done mostly, he said, by classmate Alanna Reiswig.
Timothy Grupp presented the valedictory, saying farewell to all who and that was familiar and addressing their future and combined past history. Awards were presented by Karen Anderson, and Supt. Rodney Scherbenske and Goodrich School Board President Deneen Richter bestowed graduation honors, and moved mortarboard tassels.
