Hospital Association approves bylaw change

Hospital Association approves bylaw change

By ALLAN TINKER
The returning issue of representation on the Turtle Lake Community Memorial Hospital Association board of directors was settled at their Oct. 10 meeting at City Hall. The new bylaw in force now reads that there will be nine members, at large and one from each of Turtle Lake-Mercer, McClusky, Underwood and Washburn areas. The remaining five may be from any of the hospital’s service area.
The change is largely due to the difficulty in getting representation in some areas and this varies from year to year. This enables the positions to be filled, subject to term limits, at the members’ direction each election.
This year’s election saw Val Guenthner elected for Turtle Lake, Deb Sparrow returned to  the surrounding area designation, and Vicky Erdmann as the new Sheridan County member.
The meeting was shorter than previous years, partly due to the coffee-less and cookie-less atmosphere. Board President Rhonda Stradinger, with a smile, promised a return to the former cookie and coffee venue in 2013.
