J. Arthur’s expands gift and floral selections

By ALLAN TINKER
In the words of a community resident, “It is wonderful to be able to buy flowers locally with a good selection.” Another resident revealed that now her husband brings her flowers regularly, with a stop easy to do on the way home from work.
The floral shop, which opened in the spring of 2012 and offered plants for gardeners, both locally raised and greenhouse provided, has expanded its coolers, stock and working space.
With just the front room used originally, now the wall is opened; three coolers stand where one was before and new selections fill the shelves, hangers and floor area in front of the big windows to the west.
Here you may find small plants to grow in your home; larger plants that you can claim as your own without the weeks and months of care involved. Proprietor Jim Anderson (J. Arthur) is there to answer any question: re-rooting a tree too large for its home inside a house; where to put the begonias; or just which tomato is the best for snacking.
With help from his family and friends, he brought two new-used coolers in so that they can offer single flowers, a bouquet on request, or store arrangements ready to go.
